Renaissance Center Nashville (formerly Senior Renaissance Center) is a 501 c3 nonprofit that provides Nashville’s senior community a warm and welcoming environment where individuals 60+ can connect with friends, enjoy shared meals, pursue their interests, volunteer, and keep their minds and bodies active. They also engage in many volunteer and community-building programs both independently and in partnership with other local organizations.

Renaissance Center Nashville requested a full visual rebrand and a new website. Although they serve the 60+ senior community, there was a desire to have a much more vibrant and youthful presence as they worked to invigorate their promotional capabilities and programming, and launch more community outreach programs.

Scope:

Logo Redesign

The new logo depicts a treated letter “R” (for Renaissance) as the focal point breaching the confines of a circle to create a sense of growth. The element on the left can be viewed as a plant (depicting growth) or as a person reaching toward the “R” (depicting community). Rays of light emit from the top of the circle (depicting vibrancy), and also represent Renaissance Center’s many programs encompassing health, education, and community/fellowship.

Visual Branding

New fonts and colors were selected based on Renaissance Center’s rebranding goals and compatibility with the software and email platform they currently use. We produced a Visual Brand Guidelines document to create simple brand consistency across different creators in the organization.

Email Template Design

Using thoughtfully-designed email templates in your organization improves engagement. They provide a professional appearance, reduce errors, and streamline communication. Additionally, templates make it easier to personalize messages at scale, enhance readability, and improve the effectiveness of your call to action.

New Website Design and Build

After analyzing Renaissance Center’s current website traffic data (including search query, traffic origination, pages views, etc.) we were able to build a new website that organizationally prioritized the information that visitors were looking for when they clicked over. Namely, these were upcoming events and the latest announcements.

Links to the events page were placed prominently in the main navigation and strategically throughout the homepage. A section for news and announcements was also put on the homepage, but in such a way that the latest four articles would show (as to prevent the homepage from turning into a never-ending scrolling blog). Articles beyond the most recent four could be easily accessed via a “See All News” button also placed in that section that links to a brand new news page. The donation process was also simplified via integration with PayPal.

We connected Google Analytics to the website and provided training on how to monitor and gauge the health of the site and the effectiveness of the various promotional channels that drive traffic.
